Listening Party: Heir the Prophecy Releases 'Comes with Envy' {Photos}

I'ma say this 'Off the Rip'... It was fly as hell to experience Heir the Prophecy perform his entire new album 'Comes with Envy' in the Kush Life lounge, in a room full of Los Angeles creatives and influencers.

For starters, Heir's inner g was infectious and bold as he took the stage, letting us know that, 'When it comes to a bag, he gone spend that Benz'.

FUN FACT: I had the pleasure of working with Heir for an interview at UNDRGRND mag and, just like the first time, I was in awe of his thought process, once again.

If you aren't familiar, the Los Angeles native's last two projects were titled 'Bad Company' and 'Star Power', which makes perfect sense since Bad Company and Star Power certainly 'Comes with Envy'... Which, by the way, is #OUTNOW on all streaming platforms.

This project is one you can listen to with no skips because Heir is really like that with his "pynn".

However... I do have a personal favorite on the album, though. 'Off the Rip', listed at #2, is a banger and might I add,

I don't like none of you n*ggas

I don't care 'bout where you from

I give a phuck about your hittas

Boy, don't play with me

This track most definitely gets blasted in my car and surround sound speakers at home. I got to ask Prophecy, during our interview at his listening party, about his creative process for this hit and he let me know it was fueled by his reaction to haters and naysayers.

Our interview was totally impromptu but we had a lot of fun discussing the journey of this project and which direction Heir is headed at this moment in time. I'm excited for it to come out.

Can you guess what I may've asked Prophecy in this clip?

The featured artists on this album are amazing!

Mylan. TheParies really stood out to me on 'Energy', track 9. His flow is ridiculous and the ad-lips literally go crazy, especially live, on stage.

Prophecy sent the song to Mylan, and Mylan sent it back in no time. The rest was history... and we now have a slaaaap!

Stanlee G is also featured on the album in a song titled 'Better'.

After performing live, I asked the singer about her artistry and got a very unique, yet inspiring answer,

This actually came about randomly, real randomly. I met Prophecy at a party, we started networking, got in the studio... we were playing around in the studio and that's how this song came about. I had never done music, never really aspired to do music. It just happened that way.

I also asked Stanlee G if she saw herself doing music further. She says, not on her own but, maybe if asked. Stanlee's favorite part about being in the studio was learning and being able to embody what "other artists" do.

I somehow missed my opportunity to chat with ACforever, but we did meet and her spirit was ever so gentle. She is featured on the track titled 'Wholehearted'.

The powerful poetry breakdown and stage presence during her performance can also be felt through the sound waves of this record.

Shoutout

to Heir's Entire team and staff. What an amazing event. Great music. Great professionalism. Great food. And great people.

Clap it Up LA and The Khyran Shank were in the building.

If you haven't already, go check out Heir's Clap it Up interview as part of his press for this release. Well worth the watch.

I had some of the most delicious jerked chicken and rice I've had in a while at the Dread Fraiche truck and was sent home with 4 extra soft cookies from Reed Family Baking. The banana pudding cookie was delicious.

Ashly, thank you for your hospitality. It was nice to work and network with your team. What a manager.

You know what they say... a photograph can speak a thousand words. So, here are plenty of words in photograph form. We had a ball.

Enjoy.
