Long Beach Poly Makes Moore League History, With Perfect 199–0 Season, Blanks Jordan 58–0
The Jackrabbits complete an unprecedented 4–0 league campaign, reclaim the Moore League title and establish a defensive record that puts their 2026 season in the history books.

History has a way of making a statement, and Long Beach Poly made sure nobody missed theirs.
The Jackrabbits closed out Moore League competition Friday night with a decisive 58–0 victory over Jordan, completing a perfect 4–0 league season without allowing a single point. Four opponents faced Poly this season. All four were shut out.
The numbers tell a remarkable story: 199 points scored, zero allowed. But behind those numbers is a team that made a season-long commitment to defensive execution and delivered something no team in Moore League football history had accomplished before.
Long Beach Poly becomes the first program to complete an entire Moore League season without surrendering a point.
For the Jackrabbits, the historic finish also brings the Moore League championship back to a program with a tradition of excellence.
Friday’s matchup began with an immediate statement. JuJu Johnson returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, giving Poly an early 7–0 lead.
The Jackrabbits’ special teams continued to set the tone as Jeron Johnson blocked a Jordan punt, creating another scoring opportunity for the offense.
Quarterback Trevor Scott connected with wide receiver Zion Anderson for a touchdown, and following an interception that briefly gave Jordan possession, Poly’s defense responded with Seven Taliauli recording a safety in the end zone.
The Jackrabbits continued to build their lead through the first half. Scott and Anderson connected for multiple touchdowns, while the defense maintained pressure and limited Jordan’s opportunities to capitalize on its possessions.
Jordan managed to move the ball into Poly territory, aided by penalties that extended portions of its drive. However, the Jackrabbits ultimately came up with a critical fourth-down stop. JuJu Johnson added another rushing touchdown, and Poly entered halftime with a commanding 37–0 advantage.
The second half brought a different look to the field. With the game firmly in hand, Poly’s younger players were given an opportunity to contribute, continuing the team’s performance while the starters watched from the sidelines.
Scott connected with Anderson for another touchdown before Landon Perkins added to the scoring. Logan Ngork delivered the final touchdown, completing the 58–0 shutout.
Anderson finished with five receptions for 116 yards and four touchdowns, while Scott completed 10 of 15 passes for 172 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.
Following the final whistle, the significance of the accomplishment was evident in the conversations surrounding the field.
I spoke with Head Coach Travon Patterson, who reflected on the group of players and staff responsible for bringing the historic season together.
“It couldn’t have happened for a better group of individuals, man. For a better staff, for a better group of kids. We just decided to make history. There’s a rich tradition here at Long Beach Poly. For us to be able to accomplish this means a lot to the program,” Patterson told PYNN’d News.
The mindset behind the season extended beyond the field. Right tackle Sammy Vai spoke about remaining humble, trusting God’s plan and recognizing the family that continues to support him.
“Things happen. Let the things happen. God’s gonna have plans for us and it’s up to us to execute…. Continue to stay humble. I just think about my family behind my back and it gets hard, but with God I can do anything,” Vai shared.
For Anderson, the victory was about more than individual production. It was about accomplishing a goal alongside teammates who have worked toward the same result since the beginning of the season.
“It always feels good to ball out with my brothers. To see us all happy, winning and doing what we were meant to do from the beginning of the season. Everybody balling, smiles everywhere. Just feels good,” Anderson told PYNN’d News.
While the historic league season is now complete, Anderson made it clear that the team’s expectations will not change as the postseason approaches.
“The same way we shutout everybody in Moore League is the same way we gotta do in the playoffs. That’s the team we are, we have to continue to show that and we are.”
That message sets the tone for what comes next.
Long Beach Poly finishes the regular season 6–4 overall and 4–0 in Moore League play, reclaiming the league championship after two seasons without the title. The Jackrabbits now turn their attention to the CIF Southern Section postseason.
A historic defensive season has been completed, but the opportunity to accomplish even more remains.
199 points scored. Zero allowed. One historic Moore League season.
Long Beach Poly has officially made history, and PYNN’d News was there to document the moment.
