Erewhon Edition: What I’m Loving Right Now #PynndPyx

A Luxury Grocery Diary by Pynnderella
There are grocery stores, and then there’s Erewhon.

At this point in my life, Erewhon is not a “content stop”for mocking high prices and more of a go-to. A quality place where I already know what I’m getting, but still end up trying something new anyway because everything looks like it was curated with intention. So, I curated an Erewhon Edition: What I’m Lovin’ Right Now list… Duh!

My consistent order always starts with the Asian chicken salad. That one is non-negotiable for me. It’s fresh, layered, and honestly just hits every time in a way that makes it hard to replace with anything else on the menu.

Buuuuuuut… I have become a super fan of the chicken Cesar salad in the last month. The crunchy Romaine/butter baby makes for perfect ASMR. lol No, but really the fresh Parmesan taste like money and the unique “crouton” thing is delicious with the dressing.

From there, I rotate between a few staples depending on my mood. The pesto chicken sandwich is one of my favorites when I want something warm and filling but still clean. The chipotle chicken sandwich is the bolder version of that, more flavor, jalapeños are generously layered and add a little kick. The avocados are creamy and balance the chicken and spice nicely. This sandwich is always satisfying when I want something with depth over a light bite.
I also really love their falafel. It’s one of those items that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. It actually tastes intentional, which is rare for a grocery prepared food section, especially with the tahini served on the side. Mmmm.

Although the turkey meatballs with vodka sauce aren’t my favorite on their own, they are delicious paired with the vegan garlic noodles. Omg! The sauce is the cherry on top of the noodles. A literal dynamic duo. I almost got the meatballs with rice instead but I’m happy I didn’t.
The garlic noodles have an acquired texture but my 8-year-old likes them so that must mean they are good.
(for some reason the meatballs have an after taste… idk, maybe it was something I ate before having them. But without that taste they would would def be a favorite. I’m going to try them again.)

If my son doesn’t request a sandwich, we definitely get teriyaki wings and dumplings to share. You can eat the dumplings all by themselves but when you add the sauce paired with them, it adds a tang and makes them super flavorful… chef’s kiss.
The teriyaki wings are always a win! Pour the sauce over the warmed wings and shake the packaging for the best lunch snack and thank me later!

Real Coco coconut water is another go-to, especially on busy days when I need something refreshing and hydrating without thinking having to use all my might to open a young coconut. This is certainly the best tasting coconut water I’ve ever had outside of the real thing. I don’t need to worry about added junk in my water with this brand, either.

When I’m stocking up on drinks, I always grab Ophora water. It’s become one of those quiet staples I don’t think too hard about. For the people who say all water tastes the same…. No, not this one. It’s refreshing. I try to stick to living water like coconut water, however with this brand being oxygenated… It’s almost living as well.

Their sushi section surprised me the first time I tried it. The black rice and white rice California rolls made with real crab meat actually made me pause because you can genuinely taste the difference. It doesn’t feel processed or heavy, it just feels fresh in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’ve had it.
Now for smoothies… this is where Erewhon really becomes dangerous. $20 doesn’t seem so steep… until you want to try every concoction on the menu.

First of all, I hate that the Barbie’s Birthday Smoothie was limited edition! Like who in the world would make such a great smoothie then snatch it away from us? My goodness! It literally tasted like a piece of cake! I don’t really like bananas, so I would swap them for strawberries. The Barbie smoothie was not only Barbie pink (my favorite color) and really delicious but it also had sprinkles in it that tasted good and made it look so pretty, which made it feel more like an experience than just a drink. Fun, aesthetic, and honestly just really good.
I don’t how many times I went back for it… but every $20 was well worth it.
The Cowboy Strawberry Smoothie was actually my introduction into their membership culture (after missing out on the perks before finally joining). I got it as a membership freebie recently and it completely caught me off guard in the best way. It was rich, fresh, and way better than I expected for something that felt like a “bonus.”

The strawberry glaze smoothie is another favorite of mine when I want something sweet but still grounded in real fruit flavor.
I still want to try their matcha smoothie because I keep hearing about it, and at this point I feel like I owe it to myself to complete the lineup.

One thing I always appreciate about Erewhon is the produce. It’s simple, but it matters.
It's alot fresher than most other grocery stores. You can literally tell by the upkeep.

The fruit always tastes like fruit. The watermelon especially, seeded, juicy, and actually flavorful, which feels rare now. The organic grapes are something I grab without even thinking at this point because they’re consistently good.
And one of my favorite little-known hacks: if the hot food line is too long, you can buy the meals cold, keep your receipt, and have them warm it up for you. I love this when I’m heading to a friend’s house or even just going to the beach because it makes everything so much easier without compromising quality.
Erewhon, for me, isn’t about hype. It’s about consistency. It’s one of the few places where I know I’m going to get something that feels clean, intentional, and actually enjoyable every single time.
And yes… I keep going back.
Because it always hits.
Oh, you know I tried Laurel Supply in Santa Monica. There’s actually one just steps away from an Erewhon. But, NO!
Yes, they actually do have the same set up, a hot food section, their prepared food looks the same and sort of taste the same (sorta), they have the same brands as well (they are actually priced a few dollars cheaper), but the smoothies are different. A lot different.
Holler.
