The glass slipper is off, but my pynn is down—let’s get into it.
Hosted inside The Gathering Spot, the energy felt divinely appointed as Miles Minnick, the Pray Area Prophet (Oakland, to the rest of us), invited an intimate crowd to preview his latest body of work, Get Well Soon—a 7-track collaborative project with four-time GRAMMY winner Lecrae, set to release this Friday, May 16, 2025.

The night was moderated by none other than Los Angeles’ own, DJ Hed, who guided the conversation with his usual humor and heart.
“Artists are sensitive about their work,” he quipped, moments before making light of how excited Miles always is, then introduced the first song, Gang, featuring Yelohill, CJ Emulous & Tommy Zuko
The music was both message and movement. Spirit-led, yes, but undeniably West Coast. When Gang dropped, the room erupted.
“It’s Christian music,” Miles said. “But it slaps. Once you’re in this thang, ain’t no backing out. It’s gang gang.”
It’s Christian rap, but it’s super slaps. As a firm believer with strong faith in God, from Rolling Loud to Get Well Soon, Miles continues to be a breath of fresh air in Los Angeles. During his 2023 RL set, Minnick held an altar call where festival-goers were genuinely convicted and made believers. That takes strong will and discipline over the flesh—especially when sharing space with secular energy.
“You’re giving up a lot. When you take this walk of faith, everything isn’t a walk in the park.” – Lecrae
DJ Hed moved the conversation along, diving deeper into the journey of Miles x Lecrae and their views on working with certain artists or groups of people. They, ever the sage duo, addressed the tension that sometimes arises when faith and mainstream culture collide.
“If it feels wrong to you, don’t do it,” said Lecrae. “Don’t do it because we do it—we feel called to. We’re here to change the world.”
“We work with whose audience we are trying to reach.” – Miles
Graced Up was played second. The track floated in with cruising R&B charm, a beautiful jam that makes you want to boogie.
To close the listening segment, DJ Hed played The Method (featuring E-40). Miles called the track “the new California Love” and rightfully so. When E-40’s verse dropped, the whole room turned up: two-step, crip walk, holy hands and all. They had to run it back twice.
And just like that, the room was transported. The beats slapped, the lyrics ministered, and the audience leaned in—and even hit their walks and thizz.
By the time those three songs debuted from Get Well Soon, the atmosphere had shifted. A room full of believers and some curious newcomers, stood fully tuned into the mission.
Before the evening ended, Glo Fest was announced: Miles’ annual Christian rap festival happening July 26th, 2025. It’ll be the fourth year running, the last three have completely sold out.
Lecrae offered to send a few people to Glo Fest for showing love to Get Well Soon on social media. Then DJ Malski jumped in and offered to do the same.
“Forty percent of ticket buyers are from LA,” Miles shared. “It’s sold out three years straight.”

“We aren’t just tryna shake the West. We’re tryna wake up the West.” – Miles
“God is love. And if it ain’t God, it ain’t love.” – Lecrae
