Khyran Shank x Pyns. Poyms. Poshyns. #AnimeAndAfterparties {Album Review}

Khyran Shank brought his personality from Indianapolis to Los Angeles. While sharing the hottest stages with the coolest DJs as an MC has been successful, Shank is officially reintroducing himself as Khyran Shank, the artist-- with a debut album titled, Anime and Afterparties to match the introduction. #July27.

I had the pleasure of working with Khyran over the last month, as he's been rolling out his album, 'Anime and Afterparties'. Not only is he talented, but he is also quite charming.

We met one week, and the next week he was hosting next to some of the most legendary DJs in the city, working alongside Keke Palmer, and sitting front row at the 2024 BET Awards with his amazing management team.

And while you will soon be jammin' to his debut album, yourself, my favorite record on this project is 'Can We Talk'.

Spynr's, without further ado...

Welcome Shank to Pyns. Poyms. Poshyns.

Now, let's get into this album!

FUN FACTS:

Shank is a real-life anime nerd and this album is truly a part of who he is.

I listened to the album at his place and was immediately drawn to the lyrics, passion, and the BEATS! My goodness!!

I'm not a huge fan of anime, but you will see in our interview, (to be released later this month) that I relate to Khyran a tiny bit since I used to watch Inuyasha in 2nd grade... and I still know the plot and characters. LOL

If you aint talkin' 'bout money, it ain't got his attetntion.

As you listen to 'Anime and Afterparties', you will feel yourself, you'll be inspired, and you may even want to call an ex to say "Phuck You" and hang up... just because!

No really, this album is timeless and the samples gives nostalgia, but in a modern way.

If I had to choose a second favorite, I'd choose 'I'm Hymm'. The track is bold. It almost makes a statement. Actually, this record is what I'm referring to when I say the album will make you feel yourself! Shank really exudes confidence in his debut body of work. Yet, you can feel and relate to his vulnerability, also.

By song 3, I was like... 'Shank, is there something for the ladies on this joint?' Then, BOOM! The relatability came in on the very next song.

Besides the main single, 'Can we Talk' 'Anytime' is also a sample that will make you feel something.

I know, I mentioned that our full on-camera interview comes out closer to the album release, July 27th... but I got the perfect somethin'-somethin' to end this Anime and Afterparties album review, while we all anticipate the album.

So, as you guys know, I like to play a game and ask my blog guests a series of questions, giving them 40 seconds, to answer.
